Well, that was a busy weekend! There was a two-event Book Launch (plus the free eBook offer), and the first session of the Master Key Experience (the Master Key System being a big part of my novel) plus all the normal things one must do, like shower and eat breakfast, lol.
Here is a breakdown of how it all went, and a few lessons learned.

Live In-Person Book Launch Event at the Norwood Legion
This was so much fun! I was overwhelmed by the support of family and friends! It was a great venue for the event, possible only because my husband volunteers at the Norwood Legion. Central location, plenty of parking, cash bar available, and the meat draw! My son won two packages of meat and my friend won the 50-50 draw!
There were even two guests who just came because they saw the event on Eventbrite! I served cake (with the help of family), I greeted everyone, and I read a bit of the book (with encouragement from guests).
I did a brisk business selling copies of both the novel and the journal. I actually sold out of the books because I didn't order extra copies quite early enough. Several of my friends were understanding and agreeable to have me deliver a copy to them later.
Lessons: Allow at least three weeks for author copies to arrive. I learned that if you order more than a few they are produced in Ontario and take much longer to ship. As opposed to being printed at Acheson, just a few kilometres away. One smart thing that I did was to do a draw for a free book. This way I collected a few emails from people that I didn't already have. And it added to the excitement!
Live Online Book Launch Event with Facebook Live
This was the most stressful part of the weekend for me. The whole process of creating and then starting the Facebook Live Event is still mysterious to me.
For those who attended or who watched the recording - thank you! I apologize for the funny orientation on screen. I also want to thank Rusti for doing such a great job keeping the conversation lively. And to those who commented!
I am sure you can tell that I could talk about both the Camino and the Master Key System endlessly! Thanks for listening:)
Lessons: Figure out Facebook Live events in advance (believe me, I tried). Or maybe use a third party tool. I plan to do a few more live videos with Streamyard, maybe that will be better?
Free eBook Weekend
Originally I was planning to do a 99 cent offer or something similar. But because of timing, the free eBook was the best option. I did not know that Amazon has ranking competitions for free eBooks! Here are my results (Canada):
Number 178 - Overall Free in Kindle Store
1st place in European Travel
1st place in Personal Transformation eBooks
1st place in Religious and Inspirational Fiction
I am very happy with those results! Thanks to all of you who downloaded your free copy! I hope you enjoy reading the book, whether print or digital. Here is a link to leave a review (which I would appreciate).

Lessons: Plan your launch a bit further in advance than I did so you have options of free OR special pricing. Keep checking those stats and take some screen shots. Here are mine.
The Master Key Experience
In Quest for the Enlightened Pilgrim, Lucy and Robyn study the Master Key System together. I did it a little differently—I joined the Master Key Experience and studied with a group. We had webinars, homework, and a personal guide!
I learned a lot about myself and about how the mind works. One result: this book!
This year's class of the Master Key Experience started this weekend as well. It isn't too late to join. If you would like to learn more about it, click HERE.
Lessons: This put even more on my plate this weekend, as I am still very involved with the Master Key Experience. I love it, but maybe it would have been better to pick a different weekend.
Overall Lessons:
Get help! This includes family, friends, and co-workers. As well as professional help. By which I mean writing coach and editor Rusti L Lehay and author support Teena Clipston.
Be prepared to spend money. I had saved up some funds to produce this book. I wanted a professional, attractive, and valuable finished product.
I also paid more in order to have help promoting the book launch. Teena did so much to help me get the word out . Things that I didn't even know about, let alone know how to do.
My goal was to become an Amazon Bestselling Author. That happened with help from Teena, Rusti, and all of you! Thank you!!
If I can do it, so can you. A few years ago Rusti told me that I had a story waiting to come to life in a book. You probably do as well!
